Welcome to the world, Zoe Mya!

Saturday, November 13th began like any normal day for us. We went out to brunch and got a BABY apple...not because of the name...but because they are soooooo delicious. I still can taste it! Next, we went to an early movie, Due Date. We wanted to see a funny comedy....and indeed we laughed. Ironic that we saw it on my due date? Perhaps we did that on purpose! We also went to a store that has become part of our routine weekend errand list - Babies R Us. Still, it seemed like any other weekend.

That is until my water broke!!

We called the doctor and she said....come to the hospital! It is time for the baby to make her debut! So much for having a break from my hospital. :) Long story short, I was in labor for many hours and eventually had a c-section.

On Sunday, November 14th at 9:17 AM, Zoe Mya Z. was born, weighing in at 7 pounds 3 ounces, 19 1/2 inches in length!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She came out pink and crying -- both mommy and daddy were exhausted but so happy to finally meet her. She looks like she has light brown "fuzz" for hair and dark, slate colored eyes. Her features, especially her eyes make her look like a mini-mommy! She probably will look different next week!

In the operating room, she found her thumb -- we thought it was so funny she was self soothing on day 0....smaht girl!! After the doctors put mommy's belly back together, she was able to stay with us in our room.

She was able to meet her Grandparents G! Soon she will meet Grandparents Z. Sooo many people called, emailed and texted with us, showering us with happiness and love.

Now we have a reason to update this blog all the time! Maybe even add some videos! We are learning the art of breastfeeding, bathing, and soothing.
